You know the feeling when you find something that used to define an awesome part of your life?
Something similar to heshi reliving so many memories because of a Jay Chou concert?
WELL ~~ I found a Christmas CD I used to listen to all the time in Canada… we lost track of it a few years back.
But it’s so definitive of my childhood years in Canada… and it’s been so deeply engraved in my memory…
The feeling of sitting in a car during the winter… with soft white snowflakes floating down and resting ever so daintily on the ground. It’s night time… but the streetlights act as spotlights to those awesome snowflakes… every thing’s so quaint and pretty.

Then there’s the unique muffling silence you get when you stand in a quiet place while it’s snowing. This happened to me a bit before I moved to AUS… Basically it was snowing majorly that day and so we had been let out of school early. I ended up waiting over an hour for my dad to pick me up because driving conditions were so bad. And because all my friends had left to get home by subway… I ended up waiting outside (So that I could get on the car faster ?!)
Interestingly enough… I stood out there, in the snow, for more than an hour without realising that I SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREEZING. In fact, that’s one of the good things some snowstorms… usually if there’s no wind, it’s not that cold. It doesn’t actually snow if it’s way below zero. Honestly, I wasn’t even wearing that much… my uniform and my winter jacket… and sports shoes. It seriously wasn’t cold.
So I stood there… and my school was in a very enclosed residential area, so there were no big roads or anything. It was weird… You’d expect it to be quiet… But it was so quiet I could hear the sound of the snowflakes landing on on ground. It’s actually really hard to describe (evidenced by my FAIL attempt), but it was… definitely an awesome experience. And now that I’m looking back… I miss it lots.
XD Apparently some people at school who caught the bus actually got off the bus and walked home because the cars were LITERALLY NOT MOVING because it was snowing so badly. ^___^V I got to skip my piano lesson as well !!
AHHH!!! How I wish the snow.
T_______T
I can’t get over the festivity of the holiday season, it literally warms my heart every time I think about the down coats, the decorations in the malls, the massive hoards of people at the malls on weekends, the sales, the non-stop Christmas music…
I think I like Christmas more than my own birthday… that’s a COLD Christmas I’m talking about. : P
Anyway – the CD I’m talking about is… Classical Christmas With Helmut Lotti
